Meet Jim

I have been married to long-time resident Alison Zamiska Carbone since 2006 and we have three children Michael, Lucia and Dominic who are all “Mustangs”.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to fulfill this life-long dream. I am grateful for the ability to work together with you to resolve issues in our city or in your neighborhood. Together we can make a difference. .

Lifelong Strongsville Resident

I’d like to take this opportunity to familiarize you with your “Councilman at Large”, share with you important information, and update you on what’s happening in our great city.

My mother and father moved our family to Strongsville during the winter storm of 1978 for a better life. I entered the Strongsville City Schools in kindergarten and graduated from Strongsville High School in 1991. I then attended Cuyahoga Community College and the University of Toledo. I enlisted in the Police Academy in August 1994 and worked as a Deputy Sheriff until getting hired by the North Olmsted Police Department in 1998. Since being hired as a North Olmsted Police Officer, I’ve been assigned to the patrol unit, riot control, and currently am a School Resource Officer at the high school where I’ve been chosen as “Policeman of the Year” in both North Olmsted in 2005 and the State of Ohio in 2018.

I was elected as your Ward Three Councilman in November 2012 and was then elected to “Councilman at Large” in 2018. It’s been an honor to serve and represent city council on the Finance Department, Economic Development, School Board, and Southwest Hospital. I also enjoy continuing my commitment to our city by being a member of the Strongsville Rotary, Optimist Club, Chamber of Commerce Board Member, Life member of the Strongsville Historical Society and Westwood Farms HOA Board Member. It has been with great pride that I have been able to serve as your Councilman for the last 8 years. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to fulfill this life-long dream. I am grateful for the ability to work together with you to resolve issues in our city or in your neighborhood. Together we can make a difference.
In addition, I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to our men and women within the Strongsville Police, Fire and Dispatch. You protect our most precious possessions- our children, our families and our homes. We would not be the community we strive to be without you. I would also like to recognize the following Strongsville Civic Groups: Strongsville Women’s League, Historical Society, Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, VFW Post 3345 and all our PTA’s. Our civic partners truly put Strongsville ahead of all other communities.
